About J Collective
J Collective is a multicultural ensemble based in Los Angeles. Founded by Masayo and Kenji, the group brings together talented musicians from diverse musical backgrounds who share a passion for music and a love of performance.
Masayo – Vocal & Keyboard
An accomplished vocalist and keyboardist whose warm musicality helps shape the group’s distinctive sound.
Kenji – Keyboard & Flute
A seasoned musician who adds color and depth to the ensemble through expressive keyboard performances and beautiful flute melodies.
Sugi – Bass
A bassist who anchors the group’s rhythm with steady grooves and a refined musical sensibility.
Atsuko – Taiko Drums
Brings the powerful energy and spirit of traditional Japanese taiko drumming to the stage.
Luis – Percussion
Enriches the band’s multicultural sound with dynamic rhythms and a wide range of percussion instruments.
Tom – Guitar
Supports the ensemble with rich guitar tones and expressive accompaniment across a variety of musical styles.
Keita – Guitar
Brings flexibility and creativity to the group through dynamic guitar playing.
Azusa – Vocal
A vocalist whose heartfelt voice is shaped by her experience singing in a Los Angeles gospel choir.
aile – Vocal & Ukulele
Singer-songwriter who blends original compositions, beloved Japanese songs, and musical influences from around the world to create experiences that connect people and cultures.
