2024年1月14日、ロサンゼルスで開催された、なでしこ会主催『成人式 in LA』に於いて、aileが国家独唱及び新成人の皆さまへ向けてのスピーチを行いました。

the speech of coming of age by aile

Oh Thank you for having me such a wonderful event.
Actually I’ve never experienced my own coming of age ceremony.
Because I got a car accident a week before my ceremony.
Because of the accident, I broke my knee, really bad.
And I had to stay in the hospital for 3 month.
And I hit my face also. And all messed up.
I was so miserable because I tailored my own Kimono from scratch cost about 3 million yen.
But I couldn’t wear it. It was very bad accident, but that accident became my turning point.
And I vowed to myself to pursue my long held dream of becoming a singer.
So I learned that Life always moves forward and now, even as I undergo treatment for breast cancer, but I’m here, right?
With full of hope and the strength.
So, until today I don’t know what the coming of age is like but having an opportunity to participate on this ceremony as a singer performing songs from both countries fills me immense happiness.
So, I’m deeply grateful to Kuroda Mika san.
You know, everyone knew it but, the president of Nadeshiko association for having me to be a part of this.
So Life brings challenges sometimes but also beautiful moment like today.
So as you step into adulthood today, please remember that no matter what happens you can overcome.
You have the strength to face anything like me.
So, Congratulations on your coming of age.
Let’s celebrate special day with joy and hope.

日本語訳

本日はこのような素晴らしい式に
お呼び頂きありがとうございます。

実を言うと、私は成人式に出た事がありません。

なぜなら式の１週間前に
交通事故を起こしたからです。

その事故のせいで私は膝を複雑骨折し
3ヶ月も入院しました。

顔面も強打し、
予定は全て滅茶苦茶になってしまいました。

すごく惨めでした。

というのも300万円もする振袖を
成人式のために一から仕立ててもらっていたからです。

でもその夢は叶いませんでした。

非常に辛かったですが
のちにこの事故が私の人生の転機となりました。

長年の夢であった歌手になる事を
自分自身に誓ったのです。

その時、人生は常に前進すると学びました。

そして今も
私は乳癌の治療を受けながら
希望と力に満ちて
ここにいます。

私は今日まで
成人式というものがどんなものか
想像もつきませんでした。

でもこうして皆さんの成人式に
歌手として参加し
日米両国歌を歌わせて頂けるなんて
この上ない幸せです。

このような素晴らしい機会を与えて下さった
黒田美加さんには心から感謝致します。

みなさんもご存知の通り
彼女はなでしこ会会長でいらっしゃいます。

人生は時に挑戦をもたらします。
ですが今日のような美しい瞬間もあります。

大人になる一歩を踏み出す皆さん

この先何が起ころうとも
それを乗り越えられるという事を
覚えていて下さい。

あなた達は何にでも立ち向かう
強さと勇気があります。

成人おめでとうございます。

この素晴らしい日を一緒に祝いましょう！
